ISLAMABAD: The Senate on Friday passed a unanimous resolution seeking trial of former President Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution for derailing democracy and abrogating the constitution.
The resolution moved by Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz’s (PML-N) Senator Ishaq Dar further condemned the escape of former military ruler from the Islamabad High Court premises on Thursday after cancellation of bail.
The resolution tabled on behalf of all the members of the Upper House of Parliament demanded the government to remove all photographs, posters and banners of the former president from all government buildings with immediate effect.
It also demanded that the resolution passed by the House on 23rd January last year regarding arrest of Pervez Musharraf should also be clubbed with this resolution.
