ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Friday that the first formal direct talks between the government dialogue committee and the Taliban would be held during the next few days, describing it the most sensitive phase of the dialogue.
In his address to a new conference in Islamabad on Friday after chairing board meeting of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the interior minister said that they were progressing ahead rapidly and many of the misgivings, misconceptions and questions would stand removed about the dialogue process.
The interior minister said that the other side has adopted a policy of non-violence and this has led to improvement in the situation.
Nisar said that there are still some forces that want to sabotage the dialogue process by way of terrorist activities. He said that these forces are on our target and if they did not mend their ways then action will be taken against them.
Earlier, during his visit at the NADRA head office in Islamabad, the interior minister barred all employees of the NADRA from making any contact with foreign nationals and ordered an audit of all regional offices of the organization.
The minister said that 361 ghost employees had been detected in NADRA and the payment of their salaries had been stopped. He further said that the services 12 NADRA employees were terminated for issuing illegal Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs).
