ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to appoint Shah Farman as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the PTI Central Media Department said that the Chairman PTI Imran Khan has approved the appointment of Shah Farman as the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The 68-year-old Shah Farman earlier served as the Information Minister in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government led by Pervez Khattak from 2013 to 2018. He won the election 2018 from PK-71.

Earlier media reports said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has decided to resign as the governor KPK, and he would tender his resignation tomorrow.

PTI bagged 84 seats in the 130-member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly as a result of general elections held on July 25, enjoying a two-third majority in the province.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan presided over a party’s consultative meeting at Banigala in Islamabad today in which, according to sources, it was decided that the name of the next Chief Minister Punjab would officially be announced tomorrow.
