MUSCAT, Oman: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi met his Omani Counterpart Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah in Muscat, wherein he arrived on a three-day visit from January 29-31.

During the meeting, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on Pakistan-Oman bilateral relations, the latest situation in the region and global issues.

The two foreign ministers also deliberated upon the ways to further enhance the bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi shed lights on Pakistan’s cordial relations with neighboring countries in the light of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s policy.

The foreign minister said that the Pak-Oman Friendship Group will be activated to promote the people to people contacts between the two countries.

The two sides also held delegation level talks while Shah Mahmood Qureshi extended an invitation to his Omani Counterpart to visit Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Shah Mahmood Qureshi also met the Omani Minister of Royal Office Sultan bin Mohammed al Nuamani.

The foreign minister conveyed greetings to His Majesty from Pakistan’s leadership in the meeting marked with extraordinary traditional warmth.

Both dignitaries appreciated the Pak-Oman historical ties and reaffirmed their commitment to furthering bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional situation.

Earlier the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi reached Muscat on a three-day visit from January 29-31.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi is leading a 12-member delegation of technical experts representing sector of bilateral cooperation falling under the purview of Joint Commission whose 7th Session will be co-chaired by the two foreign ministers on January 31 followed with ‘Signing Ceremony’ of bilateral Accords.

The outreach is high on substance, considering Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s schedule that includes meeting with Hon’ble Deputy Prime His Highness Sayyid Fahd Bin Mahmood Al-Said, the Minister for Royal Office General Nuamani in addition to covering ‘Strategic Consultation’ with HE Alawi.

During his visit, the foreign minister will participate in a mega reception for Pakistani community.

The event will showcase colorful performance by a troupe and band of 50 school children. A total of 750 guests have been invited for the occasion. In access of 50 Pakistanis, Omanis and other nationalities will be presented ‘Certificates of Appreciation’ for their contributions to Pak-Oman Friendship.
