LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has formed an investigation committee to probe reasons for not running anti-measles campaign in the province, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
A high-level meeting of provincial health authorities was summoned on Friday by Shahbaz Sharif to find out ways to curb the measles outbreak.
Since January this year, over 140 children have so far lost their lives in Punjab due to the measles. More than 14000 children have been affected from the disease and are under treatment in government hospitals across Punjab.
Earlier, officials said the CM Punjab would preside over a meeting which would also be attended by Secretary Health Punjab and Chief Secretary Punjab to review the government measures against the outbreak.
