LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of Board of Directors of Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Limited Company in Lahore on Tuesday.
The meeting took detailed performance review of the company.
While addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the company has done a good job by setting up Bhikki Gas Power Plant as billions of rupees have been saved through this project.
The Chief Minister said that technical fault in the turbine of this plant has been rectified and now provision of more than 300 megawatt electricity from this plant has been restored. Meanwhile, work is in progress day and night to repair the technical fault in second gas turbine. As like other projects of the Punjab government, he said this project is also a symbol of speedy completion, transparency and quality. This plant is providing cheap electricity to the consumers, he added.
Shahbaz Sharif directed that landscaping of the project should be conducted to beautify the project environs and added that this task should be outsourced.
The CEO of Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Limited Ahad Cheema presented a briefing about performance of the company.
Provincial Finance Minister Dr. Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, Chairman BOD of Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Limited Chaudhry Arif Saeed, President LCCI Abdul Basit, famous businessman Syed Maratab Ali, Chairman P&D, Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Afzaal Bhatti, Secretaries of Energy, Finance and Specialized Healthcare Departments as well as concerned officials attended the meeting.
