ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has urged the incumbent government to declare wearing of masks as compulsory before coming out of their houses as it’s prerequisite to curtail the spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Participating in the discussion on the situation arising out of COVID-19 pandemic in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Abbasi said that the Coronavirus pandemic is the biggest challenge of the Country as 19 percent of suspected cases are resulting positive.

The PML-N leader said that a unified national strategy is the need of the hour to contain the spread of the virus.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi further said that testing capacity needs to be enhanced and the government should focus in this direction.

In his speech, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said that his party is ready to extend every kind of cooperation in fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.

Pervaiz Ashraf said that protecting human lives should be kept supreme. He demanded of the government to pass maximum relief of reduced oil prices in the international market on the people.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s (MQM-P) Salahuddin appreciated the federal government for turning complete lockdown into smart lockdown to protect economy and daily-wage earners, who had been suffering a lot due to restrictions on movements and closure of businesses.
