KARACHI, Pakistan: The Sindh Chief Minister as well as the Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Thursday presented the provincial budget for the financial year 2018-19 with a total outlay of over Rs 1.144 trillion in the Sindh assembly in Karachi.

During his budget speech, the Chief Minister informed that the provincial budget focuses on improvement of health and education sectors while attention is also being paid towards infrastructure development of rural as well as urban areas.

In its budget for next financial year, the Singh government has proposed 10 percent increase in the salaries and pensions of government employees.

The Sindh Chief Minister informed that more than Rs 95 billion have been allocated for the law and order. He said that more than Rs 306 million have been allocated for Sindh Rangers.

Murad Ali Shah said that the provincial government has increased the budget for the education sector with allocation of Rs 178.70 billion for non-development expenditures and Rs 24.4 billion for development expenditures.

The Chief Minister said that over Rs 24 billion have been allocated for the health sector in the provincial budget.

Likewise, he added that, more than Rs 25 billion have also been allocated for construction of roads across the Sindh province while Rs 750 million have been allocated for minorities.
