PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Once again a security vehicle was targeted in Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday morning that caused injuries to six Frontier Corps (FC) persons.
Sources said that the incident took place in Molazai More area of Tank district. They said that a vehicle of FC personnel was passing through the area when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off.
Sources said that the IED was planted along the road side whereas the FC persons were on a routine patrol.
Immediately after the blast, the area was seized while the injured FC personnel were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in Tank for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, an operation was initiated to find the culprits behind the blast. However, no group had yet confessed to its involvement in the blast.
Last year, 238 terror incidents took place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; though the number were comparatively less than 2015 and 2014 when 297 and 610 terror attacks were carried in the province respectively.
Earlier on Saturday, 25 persons lost their lives when an IED blast occurred in vegetable market of Parachinar, an area of Kurram tribal region.
