ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Six more death row prisoners were executed in various jails across Punjab and Sindh provinces on Wednesday morning.
Two murder convicts including Jalil aka Jalal Morejo and Abdul Razzaq Chohan were hanged till death in the Sukkur Central Prison-1.
The convict Jalil aka Jalal Morejo was granted death sentence by a session court of Naushero Feroze in 2000 because he had killed a person in 1997 over an old feud.
While Abdul Razzaq Chohan was executed after he was found guilty of stabbing a student to death at a local seminary in the Bachal Shah Miani area.
Chohan was awarded the death penalty by the session courts Sukkur in 2003.
Similarly, another death row convict Shahbaz Ali was hanged till death in the Central Jail Sahiwal for killing a seven-year-old boy Asim Baig in 1998 over a land dispute while another convict Ghulam Yaseen was executed in the Central Jail Bahawalpur.
Yaseen was awarded death sentence by the district and session courts Bahwalpur after rape and murder charges against him proved.
In Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail, the death row prisoner Muhammad Ayub was hanged till death.
