Rawalpindi, Pakistan: Six members of one family died when their jeep was flushed away in rain water in Mathrini village of Nakyal sector Azad Kashmir.

According to preliminary details reached here on Sunday evening, former Director Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) of Azad Kashmir Ch Ishaq was travelling in his jeep along with his younger brother and three nephews in Nakyal sector of Azad Kashmir.

Driver of the Jeep was crossing a mountain nullah without bridge near Mathrini village. Eyewitnesses said that a heavy flash fllod came from upper mountains when jeep was near to come out of nullah. Witnesses maintained that flash flood was so intense that it did not provide chance to anybody to come out of jeep to save life and jeep disappeared in flash flood within minutes and then appeared on surface when flash flood receded.

Some people from nearby village the incident and reached the spot to help victims but they were all dead when they were recovered from jeep.

It is pertinent to mention that over 3000 small and big mountain nullahs have no bridges and a several vehicles including buses flushed away in such nullahs in past.

Azad Kashmir terrain is in Pir Panjal mountain range. Fatehpur Thakiala which is also known as Nakyal, is one of the three tehsils of the Kotli District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.
