Murtaza was involved in Eden Housing Society Scam
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The son-in-law of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry has been arrested in Dubai in Eden Housing Society Scam involving billions of rupees, the Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry told media on Wednesday.
Talking to media representatives in Islamabad, Fawad Chaudhry said that Murtaza, the son-in-law of Former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary, was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), terming the development a great success.
NAB had issued the arrest warrant of son-in-law of former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry
Fawad Chaudhry said that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had issued the arrest warrant of Murtaza, on which, FIA apprehended him in Dubai.
The information minister said that Iftikhar Chaudhary’s son Arsalan Iftikhar, his daughter, and the father of his son-in-law are also involved in Eden Housing Scam.
The minister said that the former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry made an astonishing decision, and provided a relief to his relatives by keeping the Eden Housing Society Case under his own supervision.
Fawad Chaudhry further told media that Prime Minister Imran Khan has sought a conclusive report in this regard within 24 hours.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in June 2018 wrote a letter to the Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal to take an action against the former Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, his son-in-law, daughter and the father of his son-in-law for their alleged involvement in Eden Housing Society Scam.
