KARACHI, Pakistan: The Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani said on Wednesday that he has accepted resignations of four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) members of the legislature.
Talking to media in Karachi, Durrani said that resignations from PTI members have now been sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for further necessary formalities.
In September last year, four PTI’s lawmakers including Dr Seema Zia, Hafeezuddin, Samar Ali Khan and Khurram Sher Zaman had resigned from the Sindh assembly.
The representatives belonging to Imran Khan-led political party resigned from the National Assembly and three provincial assemblies last year. However, the issue of acceptance of resignations of the PTI lawmakers in the National Assembly remained unresolved over question of modalities for verification of their resignations.
