LONDON: A Roadshow to introduce the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and related investment opportunities under China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was held at the Pakistan High Commission in London on March 4, 2020.
The Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was the Chief Guest whereas a large number of British Pakistanis and potential investors attended the event.
Welcoming the guests, the High Commissioner Mohammad Nafees Zakaria briefed the British Pakistanis on the investment opportunities in Pakistan, especially in SEZs being established under China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
Given the economic potential of the CPEC, Nafees Zakaria cited that CPEC has been dubbed as a game changer and holds immense economic opportunities. He also apprised the guests of Mission’s efforts to attract foreign investments to Pakistan and the business prospects for those who want to venture in and benefit.
The High Commissioner noted that given the financial meltdown in the developed world, Asia is seen as an engine of global economic growth. Pakistan enjoys a unique and most advantageous geographic position, he added.
In his address on the occasion, the governor Punjab said that the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan attaches great importance to the expatriate Pakistanis.
Chaudhry Sarwar assured them that the government is committed to resolve all issues of the overseas Pakistanis, particularly the issues related to their investment in Pakistan. He invited the overseas Pakistanis as well as foreign investors to take advantage of the investment-friendly regime of Pakistan.
On this occasion, the Chairman FIEDMC (Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Manufacturing Company) Kashif Ashfaq, made a presentation about the investment opportunities in the Special Economic Zones in Punjab.
Ms Rabia Zia also made a presentation on investment opportunities in Pakistan.
