ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The students in 40 religious seminaries of Islamabad are being mainstreamed in collaboration with National Commission for Human Development as a part of government commitment to ensure free and quality education to all.

During the 3rd sitting of 41st session of National Assembly, it was informed through a written reply to a question that as per Article 25-A, the Right to Free & Compulsory Education Act, 2012 was legislated in Parliament for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and signed into law on December 24, 2012.

After promulgation and formal notification of Act, it was told that children in 40 selected Deeni Madaris of ICT are being mainstreamed in collaboration with NCHD.

Field Survey for Out of School Children (OOSC) has been completed and policy to enroll these children in formal and non-formal system is being implemented.

It was further informed that admission Policy has also been reviewed and relaxed with a view to maximize enrollment as well as to arrange the education for OOSC.

With the assistance of some social activists/educationists, more than 2000 OOSC from disadvantaged group, have been enrolled.

The House was informed that School Management Committees (SMC) have been established in all educational institutions to materialize the idea to ensure maximum community involvement.
