Syra Yousuf Early Life
Syra Yousuf was born in a Pakhtun family with an Afghan mother and father who settled in Pakistan. She was fortunate to be birthed in a family where films were loved, and the media was something that wasn’t frowned upon. This got her, alongside her two sisters, a chance to venture into Pakistani media and try their luck. Her elder sister Alishba Yousuf is also an actress and the younger sister Palwasha Yousuf is also an interest-based model and a stylist. Other than these two, she has two other sisters, one of them who was also the eldest, passed away after fighting cancer in 2013.
Education
Syra did her matriculation from the Institute of Learning and Motivation (ILM) Peshawar. We have no further record of her education, which means that she might have dropped out due to her career.
Her Career
Syra Yousuf started her career as a VJ for MTV Pakistan. She hosted several shows for the channel including Bheja Fry and Most Wanted. Her career began when she auditioned for MTV’s VJ Hunt judged by Mahira Khan and Ahmed Ali Butt among others. Her career in the TV screen became when she was cast as the lead in Mera Naseeb in 2011 opposite Sanam Saeed and Imran Abbas. Her innocent side was loved by many and her acting got appreciation and recognition.
The next year, she appeared in Tanhaiyan and Naye Silsilay with her then husband Shehroz Sabzwari. Her real acting skills came out when she starred opposite Pakistani-American actor Faizan Khawaja in Ru Baru.
She made her debut on the big screen with the drama movie ‘Ho Mann Jahaan’ in 2016 with Mahira Khan among others. She also starred in Chalay Thay Saath with a Chinese actor, which is now available on Netflix as well. She also acted in Project Ghaazi, which was supposed to be Pakistan’s first high action-packed movie but did not gain the traction or popularity it deserved due to many glitches.
Her Personal Life
Syra married Shehroz Sabzwari, who is the son of acting legend Behroze Sabzwari. Both of them did not disclose their liking to the public and we only got to know once the couple got married. However, just recently after a prolonged controversy, both of them separated due to the reasons unbeknownst. They now have one daughter Nooreh who is around 5-year-old and lives with Syra.
