EuropeSyrian opposition pulls out of Italy, Moscow talks over Aleppo attack

Syria’s opposition National Coalition has pulled out of international meetings it was invited to participate to protest what it called as the systematic destruction of the ancient city of Aleppo by Syrian missile strikes.

In a statement, the Syrian National Coalition said that the coalition has suspended participation in the US-led friends of Syria conference scheduled in Rome next month, where US Secretary of State John Kerry is also expected.

Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib, Chief of National Coalition, had also been invited to Moscow; however, he is now unlikely to visit there since the group has turned down the invitation.

The decision comes as a protest against the Friday attack on the city of Aleppo, which, the opposition claims, left hundreds of civilians killed.
