ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The negotiating teams of the federal government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held another round of talks in Islamabad on Saturday to discuss the proposed Judicial Commission Ordinance to probe the alleged rigging in 2013 general elections.

The talks held at the residence of the PTI General Secretary Jahangir Tareen in Islamabad witnessed important progress as the government team held a detailed discussion with open mind on the three issues highlighted by the PTI.

Now both the sides would consult their respective leaderships for seeking guidance on the three points.

The sources said that the government negotiating team agreed to all points except three related to the proposed Judicial Commission Ordinance.

The next round of the talks between the two sides will be held on Tuesday as there is a meeting with the opposition parties on Monday to discuss national security issues.

Later talking to newsmen, the PTI General Secretary Jahangir Tareen said that serious efforts are under way to reach an understanding with the government on constitution of judicial commission to probe the alleged rigging in the elections.

The PTI general secretary said that both the sides have demonstrated flexibility and the issue can be settled if the government team takes another step forward.
