RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Corps Investiture Ceremony of Rawalpindi Corps was held on Friday in which the Commander Rawalpindi Corps Lieutenant General Bilal Akbar was Chief Guest on the occasion, the Inter Services public Relations (ISPR) said.
In the Ceremony, awards of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat were conferred on Pakistan army officers and soldiers, the ISPR said.
Two officers and 24 Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs) and soldiers including 21 Shuhada were awarded Tamgha-i-Basalat. Next of kins of Shuhada received their awards posthumously.
As many as 63 officers were awarded Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 85 officers were awarded Tamgha-i-Imtiaz (Military) for rendering meritorious services to the nation.
A large number of senior army officers and families of awardees attended the ceremony.

As per another ISPR press release, the US Special Represented for Afghan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa today at GHQ and discussed overall regional security situation with particular reference to ongoing Afghan reconciliation process.
The visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s efforts towards peace process.
