Islamabad, Pakistan: Despite shelling and Police action, ‘Tahafuz Namoos-i-Risalat’ Rally reached Faizabad Bridge from Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi in protest against the publication of blasphemous caricatures in France.
Blockades were installed at different entry points of the capital, including Faizabad, with the deployment of police and the paramilitary force to stop the protest rally of Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) from entering the city.
Red Zone of Islamabad has already be partially sealed and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Shafqaat Mahmood has directed public not to take route from Khanna Bridge to Zero Point.
Islamabad Expressway from Zero Point till Khanna Bridge will stay sealed. Everyone is requested to plz use alternate routes. Apologies for inconvenience. We are trying our best to clear the route.
