HYDERABAD: Secretary General Jamial Ulema Islam Sindh former Senator Dr. Khalid Mahmood Soomro has said that their 10 party alliance would field one to one candidate against Pakistan People Party throughout the province and has made appeal to people of Sindh not to vote for those who had compromised and sold their interests.
He was addressing news conference here on Thursday. He said the names of his party candidates have been finalised and in all their candidates will contest 48 NA and 101 PS seats from Sindh. He said their party JUI had held Islam Zindabad conference throughout country and felt that people have given positive response to them by attending in thousands.
He said the main reason for PPP candidates returning to assemblies in past was that they did not had tough opposition as such keeping in mind this notion JUI has made election alliance with other 9 parties including ML(F),ML(N), Sindh United Party, Awami Tehrik, Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party, Jamat Islami, Sunny Tehrik, NPP and JUP. He informed that on April 9 heads of all these allied parties would be held in Karachi in which decision of final candidates will be taken but efforts will be that all parties should agree on one name from any party to fight one to one against PPP candidates.
He said today’s PPP was not that of Bhutto or of Benazir but it is now Zardari League. He called Zardari as accidental leader and it was misfortune of Pakistani nation that they have such a man as president. He said PPP had broken the records of corruption in last 5 years of which its candidates shall have to give answers. He said they plunged nation into inflation, load shedding, death of merit and target killings. He said they even took away money meant for flood affected people and got so much foreign debt that every Pakistani is indebted to Rs.25000 per head.
He said they forced poor women to turn beggars in name of Benazir Income Support Program to such extent that many of them had lost lives under stampede. PPP introduced anti Sindh dual local bodies system later on pressure of Sindhi people they licked their own spit. Now while leaving they sold coastal islands to Malik Riaz the financial partner of Zardari who had built Bilawal House for them in Lahore. The armed men of Malik Riaz were dismantling the homes of poor fishermen who were living on these islands since centuries and were displacing them. He made it clear that they would never allow sale of coastal islands of Sindh. He hoped that under Fakhruddin Ibrahim the elections will be held fair and if free elections were held many an idols will come down to ground. He made appeal to Sindhi people to vote for pious and God fearing candidates and those who were contesting against looters and thieves of PPP. Maulana Taj Muhammad Nahyoon, Azam Jehangiri and others were present on the occasion.
