PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a 59 percent decline in terror-related incidents, according to a first six months report of current year issued by the provincial police.

The report shows significant decline in terrorism and crime incidents across the country’s northwestern province.

It says that 131 terror incidents have been reported across the province in 2015 as compared to 290 in first half of 2014 while 104 terror cases have been traced out successfully.

The police says in its report that 9,865 search operations have been conducted in different parts of the province and 115,000 houses have been searched

The reports says that the police has recovered 332 Kilograms of explosives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Likewise, a gang of target killers was also busted.

Moreover, it says that 919 cases were registered against various schools for failing to meet security requirements across the province while 2,648 persons were taken into custody for bogus computerized national identity cards (CNICs).

Following the Peshawar army public school terror attack in December 2014, a 20-point national plan of action against terrorism was initiated by the political and military leadership under which the security forces across the country including in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have intensified their actions to wipe out the militants.
