ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Vice Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Wednesday said alliance of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was unnatural and not durable.
“There are rifts in the alliance,” Shah Mehmood Qureshi said while talking to media representatives outside the Parliament House in Islamabad wherein the 15th National Assembly was about to resume its Session to elect its Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
Qureshi said PPP voiced reservations over the nomination of the President PML-N Shahbaz Sharif for the Premiership, adding it was just the beginning of opening up of rifts in the PPP-PML-N alliance. He further said rifts would further deepen in the furture.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said PTI workers were committed to make new Pakistan. He thanked PTI’s allies for supporting them in the formation of the governments.
The Vice Chairman PTI hoped that PTI’s nominees Asad Qaiser and Qasim Khan Suri would easily become the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
Separately talking to media, the PTI Central Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry said the name of the Chief Minister Punjab was expected to be announced by tomorrow.
Fawad Chaudhry said election of the prime minister in the National Assembly would take place on August 17 while his swearing-in would be held a day after.
