Overseas Pakistani can buy Pakistan Banao Certificates
Pakistan has the sixth largest diaspora in the world with more than 8.5 million people. Therefore, in order to tap the potential of overseas Pakistani, the government led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on January 31, 2019, launched an ambitious plan by floating the Investment Scheme “Pakistan Banao Certificates (PBCs)”.
Under the Scheme, two types of Pakistan Banao Certificates will be issued with the time limit of 3 years and 5 years having profits of 6.25% and 6.75% respectively.
The PBCs will be available for buying by June 30, 2019.
Overseas Pakistanis possessing CNIC, National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) and Pakistan Origin Cards (POC) will be eligible to subscribe the PBCs.

Registration process
- Fill the Registration Form (https://www.pakistanbanaocertificates.gov.pk/register) in Specially Designed Web Portal (https://www.pakistanbanaocertificates.gov.pk/Default) to Subscribe the Scheme.
- Pakistan Banao Certificates are issued to the investors electronically on receipt of funds in the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Account given on the Portal.
- Investors receive confirmation of the issuance of Pakistan Banao Certificates both through email and updating of their account on the Portal.
- Investors can view the status of their application by accessing the Portal through their respective User ID and Password.
Savings on Pakistan Banao Certificates will be available both in US dollars and Pakistani rupees. The profit on Certificates will be paid to the nominee of the investor in Pakistan or abroad in US dollar account.
The PBC holders could encash those Certificates even before 3 and 5 years without any levy or penalty. The encashment in US dollars ensures that it will not be affected by Dollar-Rupee parity.
There will be no withholding tax and deduction of Zakat on Pakistan Banao Certificates to provide special incentives to the investors.
