PESHAWAR, Pakistan: At least three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel embraced martyrdom and three others injured when a roadside blast occurred near their vehicle in Bashirabad area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Capital Peshawar on Tuesday.
The senior superintendent of police (SSP) Operations Ejaz Khan told media persons that FC personnel were on routine patrol near Bashirabad area of Peshawar when their vehicle was targeted with a remote controlled explosive device.
As a result, three FC personnel embraced martyrdom while three others sustained injuries.
The SSP Operations said that the bodies and injured were shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH). He said that the FC men were the target of the blast.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned terrorist attack on FC personnel in Peshawar and expressed deep grief over the loss of valuable lives.
“These cowardly attacks cannot shatter our unflinching resolve to eliminate terrorism and extremism from our motherland,” a statement from the PM House while quoting the Prime Minister said.
The Prime Minister prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed souls with eternal peace and grant of courage to the bereaved families to bear their irreparable loss with fortitude.
The Prime Minister prayed for swift recovery of those injured during the attack.
