PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An official of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) embraced martyrdom in an explosion on Peshawar’s Warsak Road on Monday morning.
In the blast, six other FC officials as well as two civilians also suffered injuries.
The blast took place near a vehicle of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa FC’s Mohmand Rifles regiment when it was passing through the Prime Hospital Complex on Warsak Road.
The Warsak Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Arshad Khan told media that the vehicle was headed towards Peshawar from Machni when it was targeted.
The SP Arshad Khan said that further investigation was under way and that a report by the Bomb Disposal Unit would further clarify the nature of the blast.
Soon after the blast, rescue and law enforcement agencies’ officials reached the site of the incident to ascertain the nature of the explosion.
