LAHORE, Pakistan: The authorities in two separate jails in Punjab executed three more death raw convicts on Wednesday morning.
The sources said that two condemned prisoners Aftab Bahadur Masih and Tariq alias Tara were hanged till death in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat Jail.
Aftab Bahadur Masih spent 23 years in Kot Lakhpat Jail after being convicted of killing a woman and her two children in 1992. While Tariq was sent to gallows because he had killed a person namely Zahid.
In addition, the hanging of murder convict Hashmat Ali took place at the Central Jail in Faisalabad. Hashmat was awarded penalty by a court after he was found guilty of murdering five persons in a Jirga.
Two death row convicts die mysteriously
Separately, two death row convicts identified as Amanat Masih and Ali Sher died under mysterious circumstances in Kot Lakhpat Jail today. However, according to jail officials, they died due to health-related problems.
The police said that the bodies of the two prisoners were sent for post mortem which would reveal the cause of their death. But on the other hand, the jail officials said that both the prisoners suffered from liver and diabetic issues and were receiving medical treatment.
