PESHAWAR: At least 20 militants were killed when a clash erupted between security forces and militants in Samo Kali area of Orakzai Agency on Friday, security sources said.
During the clash, three security personnel were also killed and 15 others were injured.
In the past, security officials have claimed that up to 92 per cent of Orakzai Agency area has been cleared of insurgents in the ongoing military offensive in the restive tribal region.
Orakzai is one of Pakistan’s seven semi-autonomous tribal regions in the northwest, where Pakistani Taliban and Al Qaeda-linked militants are said to have carved out strongholds.
