The Canadian High Commissioner to India Cameron MacKay was summoned by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The MEA informed the Canadian High Commissioner that it has also expelled a Canadian diplomat in a reciprocal move.

The Indian media reports said that the Canadian High Commissioner hurriedly left the Parliament building after the short meeting.

Cameron MacKay left fuming with anger and his anger was visible on camera. He was questioned by the reporters present outside the building to which he did not reply and slammed the door of his car in anger and left in his vehicle.

The situation between the two Country turned further tense after Canada expelled a top Indian diplomat for having links with the killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada.

While speaking in the Parliament, the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the Canadian security agencies had been actively pursuing credible allegation over potential links between agents of the government of India and killing of a Canadian citizen Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Later, the Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said that as a consequence, we have expelled a top Indian diplomat from Canada.
