RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: In order to make the security foolproof for 23th March Parade, City Traffic Police (CTP) have finalized all the arrangements under a comprehensive traffic plan made for free movement of traffic in the city.

According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, 424 traffic wardens would be deployed on March, 23 to regulate traffic on the roads.

He said, traffic from Faizabad to Rawalpindi and Islamabad will be suspended. All the traffic on Murree Road towards Islamabad will be directed to use diversion point of Double Road Chowk and through 9th Avenue will enter Islamabad.

Whereas, the traffic coming from Koral Chowk will use Khanna Pull Service Road to entre Islamabad, after passing through Shamsabad via Double Road and 9th Avenue.

Six DSPs, 16 Inspectors, 43 Junior Wardens and 359 Wardens under the supervision of Senior Traffic Officer (STO) Superintendent Police (SP) Iftikhar ul Haq, will perform duties to help smooth run of the traffic on these two routes.

The City Traffic Office (CTO) further informed that Motorway and National High Way police have been requested not to allow heavy traffic coming from Peshawar to enter the city and should be stopped at Attock bridge, Harow bridge, Margalla, Taxila and Chungi No. 26.

He said, heavy traffic coming from Lahore and Murree via GT Road and Murree Road will also be stopped to enter into the city.

Under the traffic plan issued by the city traffic police, Faizabad will be closed and all vehicles going towards Islamabad will be diverted to the Cricket Stadium Road.

Heavy vehicles, including buses, trucks and trailers, coming from Lahore will be stopped at Gujrat, Kharian, Jhelum, Mandra Toll Plaza, and Rawat near T chowk.

Public transport vehicles coming from Murree will not be allowed to move towards the capital city from Lower Topa, Double Motorway Turn, Dana Mor, Satra Mile toll plaza.
