Treason case: Musharraf gets exemption from court appearance till full recovery

ISLAMABAD: A three-member special court constituted for the high treason trial of Pervez Musharraf on Thursday gave the former president exemption from court appearance till his full recovery.

The special court headded by Justice Faisal Arab and comprising Justice Tahira Safdar and Justice Yawar Ali announced the judgment in the treason case in Islamabad on Thursday.

The court decided not to issue arrest warrant against the former president as he failed to appear before the court due to sudden heart problem.

Earlier, the former president was shifted to the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) in Rawalpindi after he suffered heart problem on his way to the special court to appear before it for the treason case on Thursday.

The special court had ordered Musharraf to appear in court and warned that warrants for his arrest would be issued in case of failure to comply with the court’s orders.
