ISLAMABAD: The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) has killed 23 Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers, who were kidnapped by the terror outfit in 2010 from Shongari checkpost in Mohmand Agency.
In a letter issued on social media on late Sunday night, the Mohmand Agency Taliban chief Umar Khalid Khurrasani claimed that they have killed the FC soldiers to avenge what he said was the custodial killing of Taliban fighters in various parts of Pakistan.
The letter said that the Taliban had warned against the killings of their activists. It said that on the one hand the government has initiated the process of talks, while on the other it continuous to target TTP members.
“The killing of FC personnel is the revenge for the blood of our associates,” it said.
“We want to make it clear to the government that we know very well how to avenge the killings of our members,” it said, warning ‘if the government did not change its trend, our reaction will be more severe in future’.
