ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Â The tuition fee hike by private educational institutions in the Federal Capital is adding to the woes of parents of students of these schools, apparently due to lack of mechanism or check.
Talking to the state-run news agency, the parents have demanded the authorities concerned to take notice of the fee hike by most of the private educational institutions.
Hina Khan, a resident of G-7, said that it is not easy for them to afford tuition fees of these private schools, adding that they decided to admit their children in government schools.
Nisar Muhammad, another parent said that the private schools are charging fees on the name of security and other facilities but it is not easy for middle class families to afford it.
He said that authorities concerned should take notice against schools taking high fees but their facilities are not satisfactory.
According to available data, private educational institutions have increased their fees and there is no mechanism to control these schools.
Parents appealed Private Education Institutions Regularity Authority (PEIRA) to have check and balance over their high charges for fee according to their will.
“Some schools have obtained stay order from Islamabad High Court (IHC) and continued to increase tuition fees on their own,” the Chairman of PEIRA Hasnat Qureshi said.
Hasnat Qureshi further said that “strict action should be taken against people manipulating the situation.
