Monitoring Desk: Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic signed Declaration on Strategic Partnership (DSP) for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

The DSP was signed by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov on Thursday at Ashgabat as President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbai Jeenbekov reached the capital city of Turkmenistan on his two-day visit.

 It was also decided that both countries will cooperate in film production and TV and radio broadcasting.

According to State media of Turkmenistan, during the talks, the leaders of the two States exchanged views on current issues of international and regional agenda and decided to enhance cooperation and understanding in the sphere of diplomacy, transport, energy, trade, industry, culture and humanitarian sectors.

Several agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) were signed between the two countries including the agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income.

State run news agency reported that the President of the Kyrgyz Republic went to Kipchak where he paid tribute to the first President of Turkmenistan, laid flowers at Mausoleum and visited Turkmenbashi Ruhy Mosque in the second half of the day while he also attended floral tribute ceremony at the Independence Monument of Turkmenistan and planted tree in the alley of honored guests.

The Head of the Kyrgyz Republic visited Olympic village and Ashgabat textile factory.
