HONG KONG: At least 25 persons were killed when a powerful typhoon crashed into Hong Kong and southern China on Sunday evening, bringing the life to standstill as hundreds of flights were cancelled and electricity went off.

Moreover, flash flood arrived and financial markets were forced to remain closed for at least part of the morning due to the Typhoon Usagi, the strongest storm to hit the Western Pacific this year.
