RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Islamabad Essa Abdullah Albasha Alnoaimi has expressed the desire of his Country to continue working with Pakistan for peace and prosperity in the region.
In a meeting with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi on Wednesday during which both discussed matters of mutual interest, the UAE ambassador acknowledged and appreciated role of Pakistan Army in fight against terrorism and militancy.
In his remarks, the COAS condoled loss of lives of UAE nationals in recent Kandahar blasts.
Five UAE diplomats were killed in a bomb attack in Kandahar on January 11 as they were deputed in Afghanistan to carry out humanitarian, educational and development projects.
Moreover, the COAS appreciated the role of ambassador in enhancing Pakistan-UAE cooperation in different fields.
The Army Chief also thanked the ambassador for UAE contributions towards development projects in Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
