ABU DHABI, UAE: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has issued an alert warning residents of a scam message that bears its logo.
“We have detected a fake message that included the logo of MoHRE and other government entities, asking customers to provide them their information and call certain numbers, otherwise they would allegedly block their bank accounts,” said the ministry in its advisory on Twitter on Thursday.
“We kindly ask you to not respond and ignore such messages, if received, and report them to the relevant security entities,” it said.
The fake document – shared by the MoHRE and marked with “Important Notice” had the logo of the ministry as well as of other government entities – was titled “Legal notice from Ministry of Interior”.
The document was asking customers to provide and verify bank details or else the account would be frozen.
The ministry urged the public to ignore the message and report the scam.
