Kiev, Ukraine: “The life-long fight of Pushtun leader Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai against Imperialism shall be remembered for all times to come”.
This was observed by speakers during a ceremony of presenting translation of his Autobiography into Ukrainian language here at Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University on Monday.
Speakers were of the view that the struggle for independence, democracy and equal constitutional rights for his people resulted half of his adult life in various prisons of British India and Pakistan but he never bowed down in front of unjust and Imperialism.
The autobiography of Pushtun leader Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai has been translated into Ukrainian language by translator and researcher Dr. Ghulam Sarwar and Mr. Vasyal Ivashko, of the Ukrainian embassy in Pakistan. It may be mentioned that Vasyal Ivashko is a big name among Ukrainian literature writers and author of several books and translations.
Speakers expressed views that Pak-India subcontinent and Ukraine both stood against Imperialisms. Pak-India subcontinent fought against Imperialism of United Kingdom while Ukraine fought against former Soviet Union and its Imperialism.
Associate Professor of Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University Bordilovska Olena informed participants about the non-stop fight of Samad Khan against Imperialism and against unjust all of his life irrespective of consequences he faced and lived half of his life in behind bars. He was convict for his conscious to provide a better life to people of Indian subcontinent.
Researchers including Dr Yulia Fil from Institute of Continental Studies at Academy of Science of Ukraine, Associate Professor of Institute of International Relations of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University Bordilovska Olena and Nargis Mohd from Odessa expressed their opinions about different aspects of life of Pushtun leader Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai.
A senior journalist from Pakistan Agha Iqrar Haroon while talking about the contribution of Abdul Samad Khan indicated that Ukrainians were fighting against Soviet Imperialism under the leadership of people like Stepan Bandera (Степан Бандера) while almost at the same time Indian subcontinent was fighting against British Imperialism under the leadership of people like Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai.
