Middle EastUN Security Council fails to reach agreement over action against Syria

NEW YORK: The United Nations Security Council has failed to reach an agreement on a British draft resolution seeking authorization for a military action against Syria over the alleged use of chemical weapons outside Damascus last week. .

The draft was moved by Britain but Russia and China objected to any international intervention in Syria.

The United States‚ however‚ warned that it would take action against the Syrian government even without the backing of allies or the United Nations.
