RAWALPINDI: General Lloyd J. Austin, Commander United States Central Command (CENTCOM), held separate meetings with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif and Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Rashad Mahmood at the army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.
During the meeting, they discussed matters related to regional security situation with special emphasis on Afghanistan, and bilateral cooperation between the two militaries.
Earlier in the day, the US CENTCOM chief reached Islamabad to discuss security situation of the region and drawdown of foreign troops from Afghanistan with Pakistani military leadership.
