ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Newly-appointed US ambassador to Pakistan David Hale on Friday said the UTS administration was encouraging its companies to take part in the business and investment opportunities in Pakistan.
He said the US companies had shown keen interest in Pakistan during the recently held Clean Energy Business Opportunities Conference in Washington.
He paid a courtesy call on Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar here. He was accompanied by Deputy Head of Mission Jonathan Pratt and other senior US Embassy officials.
Ambassador Hale on this occasion recalled the recent visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to USA and stated that it had been very useful in further strengthening the longstanding bilateral relations.
The US Ambassador appreciated the economic achievements of the present government and stated that the positive progress was being acknowledged by international institutions including the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Welcoming the US envoy, the Minister hoped he would play his due role in further enhancing the Pak-US relations.
The Minister stated that Government wanted to promote private sector participation in all economic sectors and would welcome US investors who wished to take up projects in the country.
He stated that having achieved the objective of macro economic stabilization, the government was now fully focused on economic growth which would also require contribution of foreign investors.
Such investors would be facilitated in every possible way, he added.
