Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan: Three former Soviet Socialist Republics (SSRs) had been facing trouble in their social relationship even during Soviet Era and situation did not change when Central Asia took independence from former Soviet Union rather situation became more tense among independent states of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

The territories of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan were mingled like knots after knots during 1924-1927 process of national territorial delimitation. The apparent political reason behind unusual and extremely complex formation of SSRs against ethnic and historical perspective was an attempt to build nations out of the numerous ethnic groups in the Soviet Union and having ethnic identity was in itself a politically charged issue in the Soviet Union.

This week, President of Kyrgyzstan and Almazbek Atambayev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed an agreement on the demarcation and delimitation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border to sooth this almost a century old issue.

Kyrgyz President believes that visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is historic and helps to remove many questions and opens a new era of relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
