ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Furqat Sidiqov on Friday visited the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) in Islamabad.
The Executive Director Lok Virsa Dr. Fouzia Saeed gave him a warm welcome and briefed him about the salient features of the Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage with special reference to the functioning of Lok Virsa, as well as a specialized institution dealing with collection, documentation, preservation and dissemination of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
With a view to support for expansion of the existing link passage with Uzbekistan created at Lok Virsa Heritage Museum, as well as on the eve of the 25th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ambassador Furqat Sidiqov presented to directorate of Lok Virsa traditional Uzbek Suzanne decoration and elegantly framed portrait of Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur.
During the talk with Dr. Fouzia Saeed, Ambassador Furqat Sidiqov told that the relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan tied with deep historical, religious, cultural bonds and Uzbek side attaches great importance to the expansion of these relations.
