ISLAMABAD: A meeting of the government and Taliban dialogue committees was held at the Punjab House in Islamabad on Saturday, while after the meeting the chief of the Taliban negotiation committee Maulana Samiul Haq told media persons that the two sides have agreed on venue for the next phase of peace talks.
However, the Jamiat Uleme-e-Islam Sami (JUI-S) leader refused to reveal the exact location that was agreed upon.
The JUI-S leader said that direct peace talks between the two sides would begin in next two or three days.
The sources said that the two sides also deliberated on the list of prisoners under government detention shared by the Taliban during the meeting. Moreover, they also discussed the release of persons kidnapped and held hostage by the militants, sources added.
The federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan was also present in the meeting.
