KARACHI: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday decided to beef up the presence of army personnel in more sensitive parts of the city to conduct house-to-house verification of voters’ list, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
According to reports, Karachi would be divided into three zones – neutral, sensitive and most sensitive, whereas security measures would be taken according to the law and order situation in these zones.
ECP has decided that in areas declared as most sensitive in terms of law and order situation, army’s security would be increased.
In addition, Army Assistance Cell has also been set up in the office of Sindh Election Commission to receive complaints.
