ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and the Institute of Chartered Accountancy of Pakistan (ICAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Ministry of IT & Telecom in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The Chief Guest of the Ceremony was the Federal Secretary at the Ministry for Information Technology and Telecommunications (MoITT) Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui.
The Controller Examination VU Dr. Faisal Tehseen Shah and the Secretary ICAP Syed Masood Akhtar signed the MoU.
At the MoU signing ceremony, the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque sent his congratulation message to Rector Virtual University on achieving yet another milestone.
The federal minister said that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is doing its best to digitalize every educational activity through Virtual University.
The Federal Secretary MoITT Shoaib Ahmad Siddique praised the Virtual University on its continuous efforts to uplift the educational standards in every aspect.
Shoaib Ahmad Siddique said that the VU has extreme potential to discover new horizons; we want the VU to collaborate with more and more organizations to switch every institution on the digital platform.
While briefing about MoU, the Rector Virtual University Naeem Tariq said that IT has revolutionized our educational sphere, it’s the need of the hour that we must implement the latest ICT-based technologies in every educational activity.
The President ICAP Iftikhar Taj said that according to the MoU, the Virtual University will conduct ICAP’s Assessment of Fundamental Competencies (AFC) exam at its campuses across Pakistan, keeping a strict check and balance on transparency and COVID-19 SOPs.
The newly appointed Rector of VU Professor Dr. Arshad Saleem Bhatti, the President ICAP Iftikhar Taj, the Vice President ICAP Ashfaq Yousuf Tola, other distinguished guests from the ICAP, the VU, and Senior Officers of the MOITT attended the ceremony.
Later, the Chief Guest awarded mementos to the distinguished guests.
