Who is new US Secretary of State as Rex Tillerson is sacked and New CIA Chief Gina Haspel replaced Mike Pompeo

Monitoring Desk: Rex Tillerson while returning from African holidays got news that he is no more US Secretary of State and CIA Chief Mike Pompeo has replaced him and Gina Haspel has replaced Mike Pompeo. Message was not conveyed by President Trump directly to Tillerson rather through tweeter message.

Sacking of Tillerson was in news since November 2017 as US President Trump wanted a tough man to deal with Russia, China and Iran. US media believe that Mike Pompeo is the best option for dealing with Russian and Iranian nexus in Middle East.

Mike Pompeo had been protecting NATO posts as US solider in Europe at the time of collapse of Berlin Wall when Russian President Vladimir Putin was protecting former Soviet Union as KGB operator.

Mike Pompeo has been tough on Russian involvement in Eastern European  and reported said that Russia has reasserted itself aggressively, invading and occupying Ukraine, threatening Europe, and doing nearly nothing to aid in the destruction and defeat of ISIS.

While about Iran, he believes that he looks forward to rolling back this disastrous deal (Nuclear deal) “with the world’s largest state sponsor of terrorism”. “Better option than negotiating with Iran would be to use “under 2,000 sorties to destroy the Iranian nuclear capacity”, he reportedly commented on Iran-P5 plus one deal. New CIA Chief Gina Haspel is first lady to head supreme intelligence of the world. She is a career American intelligence officer. She had been in news in Europe and on June 7, 2017, the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights called on the Public Prosecutor General of Germany to issue an arrest warrant against Haspel over claims she oversaw the torture of terrorism suspects. The complaint against her is centered on the case of Saudi national Abu Zubaydah.

She headed CIA prison located in Thailand in 2002 holding suspected al Qaeda members Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri and Abu Zubaydah for a time. The Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA torture specifies that during their detention at the site they were waterboarded and interrogated using no-longer-authorized methods. Declassified CIA cables specify that Zubaydah was waterboarded 83 times in a month, was sleep deprived, kept in a “large box”, had his head slammed against a wall, and he lost his left eye.
