ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The World Cancer Day is being observed on Monday (February 4) to raise awareness and educate people how to fight cancer through screening and early detection.
This year, the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), which organizes World Cancer Day, is launching a new three-year campaign with the theme: “I Am and I Will.”
It calls for a personal commitment to help reduce the global burden of cancer.

Meanwhile in his message on the World Cancer Day, the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that the Day aims at to provide awareness about cancer symptoms, diagnosis, precautions and treatments.
Usman Buzdar said that through timely diagnosis, effective treatment and precautions, cancer can be prevented.
In a twitter message, the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Aamer Mehmood Kian also said “Today is World Cancer Day. Let’s work together to reduce cancer risk factors. Govt. is also working on taking measures to ban cancer causing chemicals. Together We can overcome all barriers towards early diagnosis and treatment of cancer.”
