ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reiterated the commitment to eradicate polio from Pakistan, hoping that the Country would become polio-free soon (World Polio Day).
“Our government is fully committed to ending polio in Pakistan. On World Polio Day, I am confident, together with our people,” the prime minister said in his message on World Polio Day which is being observed on Wednesday (October 24) across the globe including in Pakistan to create awareness amongst the masses about the hazards of the crippling disease.
“We will achieve a safer, healthier and polio-free Pakistan for our children,” the prime minister added.

World Polio Day being observed on October 24
Separately in his message on World Polio Day, the Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Ahmed Buzdar said that children can be saved from polio disease through timely vaccination.
Usman Buzdar said that adoption of effective measures for complete eradication of polio from society is collective responsibility of the government as well as society.
The Chief Minister said that the parents should ensure administration of anti-polio drops to their children so that they may remain safe from this disease.
