MUMBAI: A youth was arrested by the Kandivli police from Gujarat on Wednesday for raping a minor last Saturday at the 12-year-old’s residence. The Dispatch News Desk (DND) reports. The accused’s friend was also arrested for abetting the crime.
Mauzam Khan (18) had entered the victim’s house at Ganesh Nagar while her parents were away. Irshad latched the door and stood guard. “Preliminary investigations revealed Khan had attempted to rape the girl before too, but she did not mention it to anyone,” a police official said. A case was registered under sections 376 and 342 (IPC) for rape and wrongful confinement against the duo.
